Very excited to begin my own journey with you and I look forward to sharing helpful content in many more blogs to come!
WOW!!! Who would have thought trying to build a private practice and all the amenities that go along with it would be so challenging? Despite the anxiety and fear of failure, I ask myself "If others can do this, why can't I?" The building of Journey To My Truth Counseling has been fraught with delays, disappointments and at times tears. However, with resilience as my middle name, I forge ahead on the path to being the best therapist and business owner I can perfect while pursuing my life-long goal to help others.
As a small abandoned 5-year-old child my journey has been well traveled with many years of tears, struggles and challenges. Through these struggles I have learned that I don't have to bear the burdens alone, I have a story that deserves to be heard and I have VALUE. Along my path to healing, as most of us, I learned many of life's lessons the hard way. I struggled with abandonment issues, difficulty mastering relationships and trusting others. As a teen parent I dropped out of high school, lost my mother, became homeless and was a victim of domestic violence. At the age of 18 I knew I had a purpose in this world and I refused to allow the naysayers to hold me back so I returned to earn a GED. While being a single mother to four sons, homeless and abused, I decided to enroll in college. Stayed tune for further adventures.
